Earlier today, Harry quoted Hans Blix and others as having said there were no weapons of mass destruction, etc., etc. BORing! The point of the invasion, as everyone knows, was to “secure” Iraq’s oil and to extend US power in the Persian Gulf region. It was and is a war of conquest, no more strange or immoral than Caesar’s takeover in Gaul.

Pretend Bush told the truth about why he was determined to invade. Probably he took some pre-apocalypse lightning strikes straight into to the head. Give the guy a break and judge the invasion assuming that the real reasons are the real reasons.

Q: Did Bush do a good job of capturing Iraq and setting up bases?
A: People can walk from building to building in the Green Zone with a good chance of getting high quality, possibly free surgical care within the Golden Hour.

Q: Did He do a good job of securing the oil?
A: Without the bases?

Q: Did He do the invasion economically?
A: It is estimated to cost about $1 trillion.

Conclusion: Medal of Freedom!
