What the spectators greatly desire and will do anything to get one day, the knicknacks that are tossed from the floats, the next day are just so much trash littering the streets, that nobody wants. It just made me think that that was such a great metaphor for human society in general.

Clif, almost that exact same thought went through my head when I was listening to “Le Show” this weekend.

I also found myself wondering whether all the effort put into organizing and preparation for “Carnival” couldn’t be put to better use organizing and preparing for a better future for the city of New Orleans.

Different strokes, I guess.
